At Centennial Hills Animal Hospital, our staff wants you to be able to enjoy your pet/s for as long as possible. Preventative care is one of the most important ways to achieve that goal and because your pet/s age faster than we do, bi-annual physical exams are recommended and more often with pets that have any ongoing medical conditions.

During a routine wellness exam, your pet’s doctor may discuss:

  • Blood work/urinalysis to identify any possible health concerns
  • Which vaccines are necessary and risk factors, if any, associated with vaccinations
  • Vaccine titers to assess whether your pet is still covered by previous vaccines
  • Dental care and preventative dental maintenance
  • Weight management and nutritional counseling
  • Behavior counseling
  • Flea and tick prevention
  • Intestinal parasite screening and prevention
  • Heartworm screening and prevention
  • X-rays to screen for arthritis
  • Skin related issues and other dermatology related concerns
  • Senior wellness profiles: diagnostics, diet, environmental health and wellness
  • Blood work/urinalysis to identify any possible health concerns
  • Hospice, quality of life assessments and euthanasia

If you notice any irregularities with your pet, we recommend taking detailed notes and bring them with you to your pet’s appointment.
